There’s nothing that compares to the feeling of stepping out onto that competition floor. Its exhilarating! The lights, music, flashy costumes, crowds of people, and judges never fail to give you those butterflies. But there is more to being a successful competitor then just traveling to new places, competing, and dancing. So let us break it down for you. In order to be a top Beat DanceSport Academy competitor you have to start from deep within and work your way out.
Being a professional dancer is no different than being an Olympic athlete. In order to be the best at your craft you have to apply yourself properly starting with your diet, exercise, the time you spend practicing, the amount of lessons you take and much more. When you are a dancer your body is your instrument so you have to take care of it. BDSA offers many beneficial classes to further our competitors progress such as Rounds Class, Couples Class, Stretch Class, as well as multiple Technique Classes for all ages and levels!
We expect all of our competitors to look like champions on the floor. After all, if you look good you feel good! Competitors hair must be slicked and gelled with no fly aways. Make-up (when permitted) should compliment the ladies look not over power their entire face. If you don’t feel confident in tackling your own hair and make-up BDSA has talented staff that are available for hair/make-up appointment bookings at almost every competition! All costumes and shoes must always be preapproved by your instructor to make sure they properly adhere to each competitions regulations.
