Amanda began her dance career over two decades ago, at the age of 5. She fell in love with the sport as soon as she stepped foot on the dance floor. Amanda trained in both programs, International Latin and Standard. After many very successful competitions, her passion and focus geared toward International Latin Dancesport. From this early age, Amanda made a life commitment to this beautiful sport. Her coaches quickly saw her talent and when she turned 15 they immediately asked her to begin teaching. Throughout her dance career, she trained with world class professional coaches and participated in numerous seminars and workshops with dance legends from all over the world.
Amanda moved to New York to continue her journey with a new partner where her hard work and dedication really began to show through her results. Amanda became a very successful dancer, winning some of the most prestigious competitions in the United States and Canada. She became two time United States National Champion, multiple time Regional Champion, Finalist at the World Dancesport Championships, first place at Canada’s most popular competition: La Classique du Quebec, placing in the top 8 at NDCA Nationals in Utah and many other accomplishments throughout her competitive years. With extensive training in international Ballroom Latin, Amanda studied choreography that allowed her to put together shows and formations such as her 7 year experience producing and choreographing Dancing with the Spanish Stars. After retiring from her competitive career, Amanda and her dance partner Allen had the privilege of performing alongside the famous Gypsy Kings at a fundraising gala event. They starred in a corporate short film that has been distributed to many companies studying how dance is the key to a healthy lifestyle. They were also filmed dancing a “Great Gatsby” themed performance on a TV episode of the “Fab 40’s” on Bravo. In 2015, Amanda and Allen appeared on Fox 29 reality dance TV show “So You Think You Can Dance”.
One of Amanda’s greatest passions is teaching. She is so grateful that she has the opportunity to pass down her knowledge and see her students become champions and very successful dancers. Amanda loves to help her students develop outstanding basic skill to become brilliant dancers with rich quality dancing ability. She focuses on technique, performance, partnering, musicality and many other fundamentals. She has an individualistic approach to each of her students allowing them to bring out their full potential.
